I spent 4 years of research on how do reps survive and exceed their quota and getting commission the way they think and do. Because, i as a former rep experience itself so its time to reveal the secrets.
Some reps succeed in call center outbound sale not because they are smart reps or very fluent in English. They succeed because they deliver result, numbers, good performance and they have a great value to a company. Also they have resistance and persistence to make a quality good sale among irate customers. They please these customers, Also they are an intelligent followers. They read a lot of business book and magazines listen to top sellers advice and recordings and do extra mile.
In telemarketing sale i can say their is no place for amateur, because if you are trying to be mediocre the tendency is you don't hit your goal. You stuck to poverty and you don't get luxury, better quality of living and class in life. You loose your job or you ended up as an ordinary rep. Some reps became a supervisor in 1 year and some reps became a manager in 2 years, reps became a call center director in 5 years (I've witness the growth of this people from humbly beginning). While most of the reps remain a middle performer rep for 5 years or more. My advice is that you do the habit of doing more than what you are paid for.

I do know to other company its like this way. The higher value you give the better compensation plan you get.
