AAP & BPI Bayan Promote Decade of Road Safety

Road crashes is one of the main cause of death worldwide. Accidents study in the Philippines, shows that it involves 1 per hour and 80 percent of it can be avoided (human error). BPI Bayan and AAP or Automobile Association of the Philippines joined together to advocate this road safety driving.  Combined forces for less injuries and deaths themed called "Spread the Pledge Campaign".

The Advocacy includes

-Safety Seat-belts
-No Cellphone while on wheel - I'm guilty of this/and I've seen most of driver do this
-Never Drink and Drive

500 000 metro manila drivers are targeted to take this pledge. Visit-Like BPI Bayan facebook fanpage. And spread the good news to your 10 families and friends. 2011 to 2020 is the decade declared by United Nations as “Decade of Action on Road Safety” – The advocacy to elevate awareness and action against the  increase of road deaths worldwide mostly in Philippines.

BPI Family Bank President, Mr. Jose Teodoro Limcaoco said, “Road safety is one aspect that is almost taken for granted despite the alarming increase of road crashes every year. We at BPI Family Bank, through BPI Bayan, recognize the efforts of the Automobile Association Philippines. With this partnership, we can help promote and spread awareness on road safety among drivers and car owners.”

I've been a regular customer of BPI for 7 years. Good to know that they supported this kind of advocacy as part of corporate responsibility. As well as AAP where I got my international license in less than an hour. On its QC office last 2008 for amazing race and international contest requirements. They also give free towing for that one and stickers as you get the license.
We celebrated this Commitment last Friday at BPI HQ, take the pledge now!
