Kapuso Celebrity Ulkay-Ukay foundation

GMA Network and Kapuso Foundation hosted a Heatwave Summer Bazaar from April 15-17 at the World Trade Center. It also houses the much anticipated Celebrity Ukay Ukay that’s actively campaigned by Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez. They gathered friends in the industry and asked them. If they were interested in donating some of their clothes, accessories, bags, shoes, etc.

That was to be sorted to the public. For the ukay ukay, auction and also for the Ebay bidding. All proceeds will go to the Kapuso School Development project. Naturally, several artists happily donated their items and supported the noble intention.

Kapuso School Development aims to build classrooms for the Filipino students across the country. They are targeting a 34 Million mark. You will be able to help them by paying P50 on the entrance fee in which P25 or 50% of that will go directly to the Kapuso School Development Program. So hurry and visit a guiltless shopping haven today! Here’s what you can expect when you get to the Heatwave Summer Bazaar:
Summer inspired items are sold at very low prices!
You can surely stretch your budget here.

One of the entrepreneurs at the bazaar told me, that they were not expecting huge number of people. Coming in and that most of the items are sold fast. So they decided to accept made to orders.
Cool shoes for the summer!

For the Kids too!
I was also able to talk to some shoppers and they told me. That they often bazaars such as this one. Because they are able to purchase items that are of great quality. With such low prices and they love the fact that they can haggle the prices too. They went home tired but happy with all of their loots that day.
Some of GMA’s Teleserye Characters were on Display

Dress of Solen Huessaff way-back college years in France

As I mentioned, there’s a live auction during the event and the host explains the story behind. The celebrity’s item and encourages the crowd to bid on it. It was so fun and the people were very responsive. Too responsive that the 3-days worth of items to be auctioned. Were sold out on the first day alone! It was interesting to watch how fans are willing to pay. Even if thousands of pesos just to get their idol’s dresses, shoes or accessories.

This 3 day cause will be attended by GMA COO Mel Tiangco, Exe. Dir. Henry Perez. Celebrity-Actor/Actress Ogie Alcasid, Jolina Magdangal, Julie Ann San Jose, La Diva Trio Aicelle Santos, Maricris Garcia and Jonalyn Viray, also with Pinoy Idol winner and singer Gretchen Espina. I had a chance to chat with some of these celebrities. And most of them told me they will never stop doing supporting this advocacy.

The bazaar organizers extend their gratitude for to those who have gone to the bazaar. And were able to give part visit and support the education advocacy. GMA foundation on their next events and help make a child’s life happier.
