Join in the J-Pop Anime Singing Contest and Win Cool

· The Contest is open to all Filipinos of all ages and gender.
· Participants must be amateurs.
· Groups can have Japanese members provided that they will only play supporting roles (i.e. instrumentalists, back-up dancers/vocals) and do not exceed more than half of the number of the group members.
· Please submit the duly accomplished Application form along with 1) CD containing the rendition of two J-Pop/Anime song demos by the participating group, 2) printout of the song lyrics, 3) short write-up (50-100) words about the participating group.
· Mail or hand-deliver your entry to: Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) Library, Embassy of Japan, 2627 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
· Entries must be submitted before: May 20, 2010
· Ten groups chosen from among the entries that will perform in the Grand Finale will be contacted through phone and email.
· Entries submitted will not be returned.

Have you always wanted to learn the Japanese language and get singing lessons for free? Would you like to win cool gadgets and gizmos by doing one of the things you love to do, which is singing and performing? Alone in your room, do you or your friends find yourselves imitating Hyde of L'Arc~en~Ciel, or Yui or Utada Hikaru and fancy rocking it out in front of a captive audience? If you answered YES to all the questions above, join the 2 nd J-Pop Anime Singing Contest!Ten best groups who will take the stage in the Grand Final on July 24, 2010 will get the chance to win scholarships from Nihongo Center Foundation and Center for Pop Music Philippines and be awarded with exciting prizes from event partners namely: Ajinomoto, Canon, Heritage Hotel, Panasonic, Sony, Toshiba and Yakult. At the Grand Final, participants can also enjoy special courtesy treats of Yoshinoya.
What's more, the Embassy of Japan is extending the deadline for the submission of demo CDs containing the group's rendition of two Japanese songs taken from anime or J-Pop! Interested groups can still send in their demo CDs until June 16, 2010 . They can just call the JICC (551-5710 loc 2318) to register for the contest by May 20, 2010 .
Groups can personally deliver or send via courier their application forms to the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan, 2627 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City . Groups can also send their application form at jicc-mnl@ma.mofa.go.jp.
